A chiropractic adjustment can often play an important role in making your body feel the best it possibly can, but at Fullarton Chriopractic we prefer to take a more rounded approach to treatment and prevention. To truly care for your body, I tell my clients to think about the five “M”s, when combined with chiropractic care can have your body feeling better than it ever has before.
This is number one. If we don’t move, we might lose the ability to do so. Movement matters, from the moment you wake up, to the moment you go to sleep. It’s not just an hour at the gym, or 10 minutes of stretching.
Be aware of how your body feels. Do you experience stiffness, mobility issues or uninterrupted sleep? Do you sit in certain positions for too long? By taking the time to connect with your body, it will tell you what it needs, long before pain starts.
Mix it up
There is no perfect activity routine. But I find often problems emerge when clients do too much of one thing. Improved strength, flexibility and motor control come when you take part in lots of different activities. For me, the more I focussed on running, I realised I needed to factor in a way to improve strength, so I started rock climbing (which I love!).
We have amazing massage therapists operating out of our clinic. Massage therapy and chiropractic care complement each other perfectly and increasingly, clients will utilise a combination of the two to help them feel amazing.
Lots of people have foam rollers. Few people use them consistently. Even dedicating five to ten minutes a day will make a big difference. For those who prefer a helping hand, our Theragun has been a revelation in the practice. It’s a sure-fire way to help increase blood flow and ease muscular tension. We can either incorporate use of the Theragun as part of your treatment, or you can order your own from the clinic. Why not book in for an assessment to find out how you can get the best out of your body?
